“take me home to where i know, that place i've come to love so”
whiskey myers x soundwaves creative | c9 | show was made to look like an old beat up relic of a map one could only hope to find of their home county. this piece of art was created to honor the location of the modest beginnings of whiskey myers and to create something special for their “home show”. this was undeniably a challenge for us, as we are not natively from anderson county, nor texas. to sketch out this map, we turned to the obvious source of inspiration...the lyrics of the whiskey myers's classic song "home." it told us everything we needed to know as we had it on loop throughout the entire design process. upon completion of the map’s contents we had to add a very authentic map like texture. we printed this piece on our proprietary “whiskey paper” to give it 128 unique shades of brown and a rich texture to emulate something that has a lot of history embedded in it. finally, we added the statement “take me home” to the bottom to bring it all together. the band, the song home, the location.
this print will be available in a light-colored version and a dark-colored version at wiggy thump fest on saturday, april 15th.
